The Exchange

Drummer Mike Nappi’s “The Exchange” is one classy album, definitely more on the “jazz” side of the jazz-rock-funk FusionGroovin troika, from which I’m playing two tracks. “Slack” features Jonathan Ball on sax, Dan Asher on bass, Alan Eicher providing the keyboard foundation of a great melody and groove, and tasty solos from all three. “Bizelsnitch” was recorded live as an improv(!) — check out how this tune steadily cranks its way up. Nappi’s drumming defines finesse throughout.
You can buy The Exchange’s self-titled disc at CD Baby, or download individual tracks from iTunes.
