I saw Shawn twice. Once at the 1993 GIT show (I was a student there at the time, my friends and I hung out with him backstage after the show too), and again a couple of days later at a club in LA (I think it was the Troubadour). This was during the Powers Of Ten era, before he hooked up with Hellborg. I remember being struck by how effortless he made everything look. He was playing the wildest stuff I had ever seen, but it seemed like it was so easy for him. Just amazing. I remember he played Steve Morse's "The Introduction" and also an instrumental of "Purple Haze" at the club gig I saw. I don't think he played those at GIT, but I may be wrong. He was the best player I ever saw, and a cool guy too.
